On our recent Cowichan Valley tour when John was visiting I bought a bottle of this just released Pinot Noir at the winery. 30 bucks -- 4 years in oak, 1 in the bottle and a delight. The Cowichan microclimate has produced pretty decent Pinot Gris' and I'd heard rumours of impressive Pinots but this was a very pleasant surprise.It made its way to our getaway to Quadra Island earlier this week where it met up with bar-b-qued steak with sauteed mushrooms....
Classic leathery aromas and nicely acidic flavours suggesting the blackberry, raspberry you'd expect in a good Pinot Noir.
